Airtel crosses 2-lakh-subscriber mark in west UP and Uttaranchal

2004-03-31 Airtel has recently crossed the milestone of 2 lakh customers in the western Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal circle and to celebrate this achievement, the mobile service provider has announced a slew of benefits for its pre-paid and post-paid customers in the region.

To lure its pre-paid customers, Airtel has announced the launch of an innovative pre-paid card priced at just Rs 150. Valid for seven days, the pre-paid card also provides the customer with the advantage of utilising the full talk value (Rs 150). In addition, on the first recharge, an Airtel customer will be able to enjoy the freedom of utilising the full calling value of the recharged amount (complete waiver on processing fee). The outgoing call tariffs are as per the normal SUK of Rs 2.50

For post-paid customers, Airtel has also announced the facility of STD and national roaming free of cost for all customers who have been three months old and have had no barring or disconnections in the last six months.

Announcing the milestone, Sanjay Nandrajog, director & CEO, Bharti Cellular Ltd, North Central region, said, “The feat has further renewed our resolve to make mobile telephony not only affordable but also all the more exciting, enjoyable and happening for all our customers.”

Airtel has installed more new cell sites in the region, taking the total number of cell sites to 310. This will be the highest number of base stations installed by any service provider in the region.
