STAR World, India’s No. 1 English GEC announces the launch of its new weekend property- 'Torrentz' that showcases the freshest and best shows from Hollywood. Viewers can now enjoy the 'Torrentz' experience from February 2011 with the launch of three popular shows Good Guys, Walking Dead and Detroit 187 under this property.

'Torrentz' is a unique initiative by the channel to curb piracy and relieve viewers from the inconvenience of downloading from the internet. Downloading from the net apart from being piracy, is a time consuming process and frustrating for the viewers. By making available some of its latest shows fresh from Hollywood, STAR World 'Torrentz' hopes that its viewers will enjoy the 'Torrentz' advantage and not waste their time and energy in the inconvenient process of internet download.

'Torrentz' shows will be telecast on the weekends giving the viewers an opportunity to set a date with some of the most gripping and entertaining shows from their favorite channel, STAR World, as and when they get launched globally. To begin with viewers can enjoy the channel’s offering of shows like Good Guys, Walking Dead and Detroit 187 from February 2011 and experience the 'Torrentz' advantage only available with STAR World.

1. The Good Guys: The Good Guys is an American action-comedy series about an old-school cop and a modern-day detective. The series stars Bradley Whitford as Dan Stark, a mustachioed, former big-shot detective with the Dallas Police Department, and Colin Hanks as Jack Bailey, a young, ambitious, by-the-book detective who has been assigned as Dan's partner because of his snarky attitude.

2. The Walking Dead: The Walking Dead is an American post-apocalyptic horror television series developed for television by Frank Darabont and based on the comic book series of the same name. The Walking Dead tells the story of the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse; it follows a small group of survivors, traveling across the desolate United States in search of a new home away from the shuffling hordes of the undead. The group is led by Rick Grimes, who was a sheriff's deputy in King County, Georgia, before the zombie outbreak. As their situation grows more and more grim, the group's desperation to survive pushes them to the very edge of sanity. At every turn they are faced with unspeakable horrors, both from the undead and the scattered remains of a struggling human populace.

3. Detroit 1-8-7: Detroit 1-8-7 is an American crime drama series about Detroit's leading homicide unit. The series stars Michael Imperioli as Detective Louis Fitch, a respected yet deeply misunderstood man fighting crime on the streets of Detroit. It co-stars NYPD Blue veteran James McDaniel.
