After its grand success first time around Jagran Marathon is back again and it promises to be much bigger and better. The first edition of Jagran Marathon had a list of firsts. It was first ever marathon to be held simultaneously in 4 cities. While concept of marathon is not new for people living in metros, but Jagran Marathon took the concept of running to smaller towns for the first time. On 20 Feb, 2011 more than 20,000 people in Dehradun, Kanpur, Lucknow & Varanasi took part in Jagran Marathon across three race categories - 42 km, 10 km and 2 km.
2nd edition which is scheduled to be held in December this year will take the property to an unprecedented scale. The 2nd Edition of Jagran Marathon is expected to see participation of more than 65,000 runners across 10 cities - Dehradun, Kanpur, Lucknow, Varanasi, Meerut, Agra, Allahabad, Patna, Jamshedpur & Ranchi. Like the first time, race again will take place on 1 day in all 10 cities.

Special running clinics to aid and advise the runners will also be held in all 10 cities. These clinics will help the participants prepare well for the marathon by giving them tips on exercising, nutrition and other aspects of long distance running.
