| ESPN STAR Sports and Visit Britain - the British Tourism authority - have launched the pilgrimage of sports, 'Britain Sportzyatra Contest', where the lucky winner gets to the Lords, the Wimbledon, Manchester United Football Club and the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit.
This nationwide contest revolves around four sporting events: The Wimbledon, the Natwest Series, the Formula 1 race at Silverstone and the FA Premier League Asia Cup, to be shown live on ESPN STAR Sports starting June 23.
To be a winner in this spectacular Britain Sportzyatra Contest, contestants have to pick up a form from any one of the 350 venues comprising select sports bars, restaurants, cinema halls and other youth hang-outs in 10 cities, including New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Baroda and Ahmedabad and answer a few simple questions. These questions would be aired on ESPN STAR Sports and will also be published in various newspapers. All one needs to do is watch the events from England on ESPN STAR Sports and look for answers to the questions. Interim winners will also be announced at relevant times.
The mega winner of the 'Britain Sportzyatra Contest' will be sent on a paid trip to Britain to visit the most exciting sports destinations in the world. Sportzyatra will include a reception at Wimbledon, a grand Tour of the MCC Lords cricket ground, a tour of the Manchester United Football Club and a visit to Silverstone, the circuit that hosts the British F-1 Grand Prix. During the trip to Britain, the winner also gets to watch one of the four events covered in Sportzyatra on a day of his choice.
"All four venues selected by us with the help of Visit Britain represent rich sports heritage. Each venue represents a different sport tied together with sporting tradition of excellent performances and sporting class. Sportzyatra will give another reason to millions of our viewers to watch the exciting sporting action to be aired on ESPN and STAR Sports for the next two months," said Sricharan Iyengar, vice-president, affiliate sales, ESPN Software India. |
