The most talked about annual award ceremony in town, Sera Bangali got younger as it stepped into its 11th year.
While the classic award recognized and applauded excellence across significant categories of contribution to society, the youth event ‘Sera Bangali: Kalker Sera Aajke’ recognized achievers under 25 years of age.
The 360 degree integrated communication plan ensured enough hype leading to the event and coverage across TV, print, digital platforms, radio and outdoors. The communication was about “acknowledging the achievements of Bengalis who still inspire us today, show us the path to stay ahead and along with them it is about those who give us the faith that they would continue to take Bengalis ahead in the coming days.”
The main highlight of the event was the photo op at the end featuring the 9 extraordinary Sera Bangalis and 6 young achievers, Sera Bangali : Kalker Sera Aajke. (L-R) Pitambar Khan (Art-Kalker Sera Aajke), Ayonika Paul (Sports- Kalker Sera Aajke), Debaditya Pramanik (Science- Kalker Sera Aajke), Ritika Nath (Literature- Kalker Sera Aajke), Lagnajita Chakraborty (Music- Kalker Sera Aajke), Riddhi Sen (Acting- Kalker Sera Aajke); Sera Bangali 2015: Ritwick Chakraborty (acting), Aditya Vikram Sengupta (direction), Aravinda Chakravarti (science), Arundhati Bhattacharya (Serar Sera), Suman Mukhopadhyay (theatre/acting), Ganesh Haloi (art), Anirban Lahiri (sports), Saurav Ghosal (talent) and Amit Chaudhuri (literature). Also on stage were special guest Mamata Banerjee, Chief Minister of West Bengal, Aveek Sarkar, chief editor of the ABP Group, and programme hosts Swastika Mukherjee and Suman De.
Sera Bangali Kalker Sera Aajke was hosted by Tolly heartthrob Parambrata Chattopadhyay and ace anchor of ABP Ananda Reshmi Bagchi while the classic Sera Bangali was hosted by ace actress Swastika Mukherjee and Senior Executive Editor of ABP Ananda, Suman De.
The youth event held on 20th August at G.D.Birla Sabhaghar witnessed scintillating performances by Soujit Dance Works and celebrated singer Rupankar Bagchi.
The main event on 21st August at ITC Sonar witnessed performances by veteran vocalist Ustad Rashid Khan as the opening act and performance by Raghab Chatterjee post the awards.
ABP Ananda plays the role of the true leader by connecting these luminaries with the people. This is in accordance with the channel's aim of reflecting and catalyzing the growth and resurgence of Bengal and also celebrating excellence.
