Mobile marketing firm TeliBrahma gets $2 million in funding

The company will use the funds to expand its Bluetooth marketing network.

TeliBrahma, a mobile marketing company based in Bengaluru, has received $2 million in funding from Inventus Capital Partners and Ojas Venture Fund.

TeliBrahma was founded in 2004 and specialises in Bluetooth marketing services. It also offers mobile promotions, applications and content.

Speaking to afaqs! about the funding, Narasimha Suresh, cofounder and chief executive officer, TeliBrahma, says, “The primary aim of the funding is to expand our (Bluetooth) network to 1,000 locations by the end of the year. Secondly, we will build more media engagement properties.” This includes interactive Bluetooth campaigns such as the one done by the company for the Indian Premier League (IPL) in a few stadiums during some of the matches.

Suresh says that TeliBrahma, which has offices in Bengaluru and London, plans to set up offices in Mumbai and Delhi, where it already has sales teams.

In an official communiqué, Kanwal Rekhi, cofounder, Inventus Capital Partners, says, “We are confident that our operating experience, with more than 1,000 entrepreneurs as mentors, will help us work closely with entrepreneurs and create a valuable company.”

Some of the company's clients include the IPL, Coca-Cola, Maruti, Blackberry and Nokia.

TeliBrahma also offers a specific advertising platform for ad agencies, called GenieTik for Agency, which helps them to integrate the mobile medium into marketing campaigns.
