CarWale.com, a portal focusing on cars, has recently appointed Kartik Ganesh as editor. Earlier, Ganesh was associated with the portal as advisor to its editorial team and was involved in the development of certain editorial processes.
Ganesh will report to Mohit Dubey, chief executive officer, CarWale.com. Speaking to afaqs!, Ganesh says that his mandate is to take the content of CarWale.com to a new level. He adds, "We will make our content more credible and introduce new sections and features so as to engage our readers more."

Ganesh started his career with Business Standard Motoring in 2000. At Business Standard, he was part of the team which worked on the online portal called BS Motoring.com. In 2001, he moved to Autocar India magazine, where he worked for more than three years and took forward its web initiatives.
He joined BBC Top Gear India in 2005 and was part of the team that launched the Top Gear publication in the Indian market. However, after a brief stint of about a year at BBC, Ganesh shifted to a farm equipment manufacturing company owned by one of his close family friends and worked there for about three years.
In an official communiqué, Dubey says, "Ganesh's enthusiasm, passion and knowledge of cars, with a strong consumer focus, is unmatched in India's Auto Industry and I am very confident that with Ganesh as CarWale's editor, thousands of new car buyers visiting CarWale.com every month to buy a new car will be helped with quality content and tools which will help them make the right purchase decisions."
CarWale.com claims that the site receives more than 1.5 million unique visitors every month.
