IBF announces first Indian TV Fest

Speakers at the event include Andy Bird, chairman, Walt Disney International; James Murdoch, deputy COO, chairman and CEO, International News Corporation; Michael Lynton, CEO, Sony Corporation of America; Hugh Johnson, head, commercial marketing and research, Channel 4; and Subhash Chandra, chairman, Zee and Essel Group.

Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF), the governing body for broadcasters in India, has announced the launch of India's first ever Indian TV Fest '12 scheduled to be held in Goa on November 2 and 3.

The two-day fest, a celebration of the TV industry, is a unique platform for the Indian and global broadcasting industry to network and exchange ideas through engaging panel discussions and master classes. Renowned names from India and across the globe are expected to participate in the mega event.

The event boasts of an impressive line up of visionary speakers including luminaries like Andy Bird, chairman, Walt Disney International; James Murdoch, deputy COO, chairman and CEO, International News Corporation; Michael Lynton, CEO, Sony Corporation of America; Hugh Johnson, head, commercial marketing and research, Channel 4; and Subhash Chandra, chairman, Zee and Essel Group.

Announcing the key speakers for ITF'12, Punit Goenka, treasurer, IBF, said, "The key speakers at ITF'12 will be coming together for a special master class to share their knowledge with the attendees. At an event of this magnanimous scale, there will be great networking, exchange of information, and discussions which will benefit all present at the event. There will be other stalwarts from the Indian broadcasting industry sharing their experiences and discussing industry related topics. In addition, there will be more than 60 stalls exhibiting content related to every spectrum of the TV industry. Never before has one seen an event of this scale being held in India."

Announcing the fest, Uday Shankar, president of IBF, chaired a press conference that was also attended by core festival committee members, which includes Sunil Lulla of Times Television Network; Keertan Adyanthaya of Fox International Channels; Monica Tata of Turner International India; and Lydia Buthello of STAR, along with Punit Goenka.

The festival will also play host to interactive seminars, key note sessions, events, content, business services technology and service pavilions, lounges for private meetings, performances and a plethora of sporting activities.

The core objective of the fest is to bring the television fraternity from India and abroad under one platform to network, exchange views, share ideas and present promising futures against the charismatic backdrop of Goa.
