Network 18 successfully culminated ‘India Hoga Clean’ Campaign

Network18, the India’s most diversified news network has successfully culminated its notable – ‘India Hoga Clean’ campaign. The noble initiative which started with a series of on-air episodes showcasing the spirit of good samaritans from different cities not only managed to garner recognition among the masses but also inspired the citizens to take concrete action towards cleanliness. The event held at The Oberoi, New Delhi stressed on the continuous efforts required to keep the environment clean across the country, which has also been an important agenda for the current center and state governments.

The reputed platform witnessed an engaging panel discussion among key leaders working in the sanitation domain including Naina Lal Kidwai, Chairperson, India Sanitation Coalition, Dr Lalit Kumar, Hony VP, Sulabh International, Manik Thapar, CEO, EcoWise, Priya Naik, Founder, Samhita and Vijay Chaddha, CEO, Bharti Foundation who shared their thoughts on the campaign and the way forward.

Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Union Minister of State for Culture (I/C) and MoS- Environment, Forest and Climate Change who was also the keynote speaker at the event felicitated champions of Swachh Bharat including Youth for Parivarthan, Chal Rang De, Swachha Basavanagudi, Rotary Club of Bangalore (Happy Schools), Drishti Marine, Forca Goa Foundation, v-Recycle, Hindustan Waste Treatment, MobiTrash, Saahas Zero Waste, SWaCH, Karmyogi Pratisthan, New Krishna Bhawan Restaurant, Swachh Pune, Swachh Bharat and Nanded City Development & Construction. A Coffee Table Book was also unveiled at the event, by Prabal Pratap Singh, Managing Editor, News18 India along with Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Union Minister of State for Culture (I/C) and MoS- Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Union Minister of State for Culture (I/C) and MoS- Environment, Forest and Climate Change said, “I thank and applaud Network18 for this philanthropic initiative that stresses on cleanliness since it is the need of the hour. It became a movement when PM Modi started Swach Bharat initiative. One of the major benefits is that medical expenditure will go down by 30% if enough initiatives are taken towards cleanliness.”
