Company release, December 9, 2004 Bangalore
This is exactly what the creative uprising at Grey, Bangalore has been all about. Holding its own in the wake of the runaway winners, JWT, Bangalore, Grey emerged as runners up - literally a David against a Goliath, and is back in the reckoning as an agency with creative muscle!
The recently held Big Bang- 2004 saw the best of advertising talent from across India vying for the coveted trophies. Organised by the Advertising Club of Bangalore, this is one of the most looked forward to advertising events in Bangalore and after a brief unavoidable hiatus of 2 years, was back with a bang!
And talking about big bangs, the night was full of them. Grey dominated the early part of the evening with a continuous stream of awards. Interestingly, Grey, Bangalore won in all the six categories it had entries in and all of these awards were for Arvind Fashions###SQ### Lee campaigns. These categories included Press Advertising - Retail - English (Gold), Single Press - English (Silver), Press Campaign - Retail - English (Silver), Brochures (Bronze), Outdoor (Bronze), and for the Best Unpublished Campaign (Bronze). ]
This follows its impressive showing in the recent past, at the New York Festival that saw it win a Finalist nomination, at the Abby's for a silver in category Brand India and an impressive haul of 8 awards at The Spark, Chennai, Grey, Bangalore is indeed on a roll.
Sanjay Menon, who heads the Bangalore Branch and leads the Creative for Grey South India, said: "The Big Bang awards are irrefutable proof that the Grey creative uprising is a reality. I always knew we had one of the best teams in Bangalore and our recent showing at the Spark, Chennai, New York Fest, Abby's and now the Big Bang in Bangalore has only served to reinforce the fact. Watch out for Grey, Bangalore, world!"
Nirvik Singh, Chairman, South Asia, Grey Global Group, added, ###DQ###I###SQ###m delighted we received so many awards at the Big Bang. Grey, Bangalore has always shown very good creativity and even though we strive to produce work that is effective in the market place, winning awards comes as an added bonus.###DQ###
The panel of judges for the event included, among others, R. Balakrishnan, National Creative Director, Lowe; Shekar K. Swamy, CEO, R.K. Swamy BBDO; Vasanth Nangia, CEO, Oyzterbay; Pankaj Khandpur, Creative Director, Tata ELXSI.
