CyberMedia announces global expansion with multiple initiatives

The media group is going global with the launch of biotech, BPO and international publications

CyberMedia is embarking on a global expansion strategy. As part of this growth strategy, multiple initiatives are being undertaken by the company to expand globally in the fields knowledge, media and services.

The media services arm of CyberMedia, currently focused on the content BPO business in the US and European markets, is planning to scale up its operations. The worldwide BPO market is slated to touch the trillion dollar-mark by 2006. The Indian BPO sector revenue, which was $3.6 billion for 2003-04, is expected to grow by 40 per cent in 2004-05.

Content BPO work is a significant portion of this business estimated at around $500 million. The company is now planning geographical diversification in the rapidly growing markets.

CyberMedia is also planning to launch a magazine, Global Outsourcing, which will reach out worldwide to buyers of BPO services and address outsourcing issues from a global perspective.

The media group also plans to take its biotechnology publication, BioSpectrum, to the global market by launching it in Singapore. This is in line with the phenomenal 39 per cent growth rate in the biotechnology industry and India's increasing expertise in this arena.

Meanwhile, the company has also applied for permission for the launch of Business Week in India. This publication would aim at rapidly globalising Indian companies so that they have an up-to-date knowledge on global trends along with an Indian perspective.
