Dinesh Gopal Kithany of OMD (Optimum Media Direction) is joining Carat Media Services India as strategic resource director from October 22. The development
has been confirmed by Charles Berley Jenarius, group CEO, Carat Media Services India.
While Kithany will report to Jenarius, he will also work closely with PV Narayanamoorthy, regional director - strategic resources, Carat Asia Pacific.
While Narayanamoorthy heads the research department of Carat for the entire Asia Pacific, Kithany will be responsible for the Carat's research department in India. Sources say that the opportunity to work with Narayanamoorthy - who is an expert on research tools - has been a key inspiration for Kithany to join Carat.
In his last assignment, Kithany was working with OMD, Saudi Arabia, since December 2003 looking after the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) market. At OMD, his responsibilities included working on OMD's CTV (Continous TV Measurement Survey) and Media Agencies Council, which is the industry's syndicated television measurement survey in the Arab world.
Jenarius says, "His profile exactly suited our requirement as his expertise in implementation and application of various media tools would come in handy for Carat, which has various media tools."
Kithany has the experience of both working in a media agency and research agency. Prior to OMD, Kithany worked with NFO World Group (now TNS Worldwide) as head of research of the IRS division. Kithany has also worked with other media agencies such as Initiative media (now Initiative).
