I see no future in radio, says Red FM's Nishchint Chawla

Nishchint Chawla, COO, RED FM has put in his papers

A disheartened Nishchint Chawla, COO, RED FM has put in his papers. He is not only bidding adieu to the company, he is also moving out of the radio industry.

"We have been waiting for the radio industry to grow for quite some time. That hasn't happened so far. And, I am quitting because there doesn't seem to be any possibility in the near future," Chawla said.

Talking about his future projects, he says, "There are a few different industries which are opening up. And, I have a couple of offers to pick from."

He declined to elaborate further.

At RED FM, Chawla's place will be temporarily taken by the India Today group's chief financial officer, Anil Mehra.

Prior to Red FM, Chawla had worked with Radio Mid-Day since its inception. He started his career in media with STAR India in 1992, and then moved on to Modi Entertainment Network where he was responsible for distribution.
