TBWAAsia Pacific named Agency of the Year by Media Magazine

John Merrifield of TBWA Japan has won the Creative of the Year award

TBWAAsia Pacific has been named 'Agency of the Year' at the recently concluded Hong Kong's Media Magazine 2004. It is the same award ceremony that saw Rajat Sethi, CEO, Wunderman India bagging the National Agency Head of the Year award and O&M the first runner up status for Office of the Year Award. The winner for Office of the Year Award, as reported earlier, was TBWATequila Singapore.

Adding one more to TBWA's kitty of awards at Media Magazine is John Merrifield of TBWA Japan being declared as the Creative of the Year.

Reportedly, this is the first time any agency has collected a total of three awards at the event, which includes both Agency of the Year and Office of the Year. In fact, TequilaSingapore was also named runner-up in the Below-The-Line Agency of the Year' category.

TBWAIndia, which is an important contributor to the network's success, is elated about the recognition. "It has been a good year for TBWAIndia too with some big business wins such as Panasonic, Pedigree, Allianz Bajaj, Zandu, Twinings, JK White Cement, JVC and Schwarzkopf. Overall, the agency won 14 accounts from 21 pitches it made in 2004,” say executives at TBWAIndia.

The prestigious Media Awards are well recognised by the advertising industry across Asia. The three most contested awards are Agency Network of the Year, Media Agency of the Year and Agency Office of the Year. O&M Asia/Pacific won the Network Award in 2003.
