George takes over from Ruby Bana, who is exploring other options within the group

Anil George, vice-president, Media Planning Group (MPG), South, the media arm of Euro RSCG India, has joined MAXUS, Bangalore as general manager.

George's appointment comes into effect mid-January 2005. He takes over from Ruby Bana, who is exploring other options within the group.

George would report to CVL Srinivas, managing director, MAXUS India.

Talking about George's appointment, Srinivas says, "We are delighted to have Anil join the MAXUS team. His experience will help further strengthen the MAXUS brand. Ruby has done a great job raising the profile of our Bangalore branch. We now look towards Anil to help consolidate our presence.”

George, a 1991 batch IIM Bangalore alumnus, started his career with the United Breweries (UB) group. He then moved to Lintas (now Initiative Media) in 1993. At Initiative Media, George was a part of the media team on HLL brands.

Besides HLL, George also worked on the Britannia and the Titan businesses. He also oversaw strategic media planning on Brooke Bond Lipton. For the last one year, he was with MPG handling Intel and LG Care.
