Vivek Sengupta appointed as president of IPAN

Sengupta replaces Rajiv Desai, who has quit to set up his own consultancy firm called Comma

JWT has announced the appointment of Vivek Sengupta as the president of IPAN, the agency's public relations division. Sengupta replaces Rajiv Desai, who has quit to set up his own consultancy firm called Comma.

Wishing Desai luck with his new venture, Colvyn Harris, CEO, JWT India, says, “I wish him well and would like to place on record his contribution to building the PR business in India.”

Harris adds, “I am delighted that Vivek is back with the company. He has played an invaluable role is assisting Rajiv earlier and this will ensure a smooth transition to the new leadership. We will continue to invest in IPAN to offer clients within and outside the JWT fold comprehensive and integrated communication solutions.” Sengupta, who is with STAR India as senior vice-president, corporate affairs, is serving his notice period.

Sengupta, who has already had an 11-year stint at IPAN, is a seasoned professional with over 26 years experience in the communication business, including corporate communications, management consulting, public relations, crisis communication and journalism.
