Greaves signs technical collaboration with CIFA

MUMBAI, June 21

Greaves Limited, the Rs 700-crore engineering arm of the Thapar Group, has entered into a technical collaboration with Euro 105 million CIFA SpA, a leading construction equipment manufacturer based in Italy, to indigenously manufacture the CIFA range of concrete pumps and transit mixers.

Greaves had earlier signed a sole concessionaires agreement with CIFA to offer their complete range of high-tech construction related products to its customers in India. This tie-up will enable Greaves to further consolidate its presence in the Indian construction industry and enable CIFA to move its centre of gravity into a high potential market.

Speaking about the tie-up, Praveen Sachdev, managing director and CEO, Greaves Limited, said, "The initiatives taken by the Indian government to give an impetus to the much needed growth in the infrastructure sector needs to be supported by modern technology for results to come by within the limited timeframe. CIFA products and our experience in the field of concrete handling technology shall go a long way in providing the much needed support to build world class infrastructure that India can be proud of."

According to Lorenzo Medici, managing director and CEO, CIFA "The Indian infrastructure and construction companies have realised the advantages that ready mix concrete can offer. Through our co-operation with Greaves, the latest technology will be available to contractors and help them achieve better efficiency at a competitive cost."
