Joydeep Raha, who is in charge of Initiative's Bangalore operations, has been promoted as the head of the Mumbai office. Raha will now be based in Mumbai and will oversee activities of both the Mumbai and Bangalore offices.
Raha has been with Initiative since October 2003, when he took charge of Bangalore. The branch grew under his leadership with accounts such as Birla 3M (makers of Scotchbrite and Scotchgard), Weekender and MV Diabetic.
"Mumbai has much to offer," he says, "and the challenge of heading two branches will be exciting".
Apart from Initiative, the Lintas Media Group has two other agencies - Insight, which was formed last year, and Interactions, which is a dedicated unit for the ITC business. Intellect is the research arm of the group, with the responsibility of pushing 'knowledge-based' initiatives.
Some of the businesses that the group handles include Maruti Udyog, Bharat Petroleum, Bajaj Auto, UTI and Idea Cellular.
In recent weeks, Insight has bagged the accounts of MTNL, Dewan Housing Finance and Gemini Oils, while Insight got the print & TV media buying and planning mandate of Bajaj Discover in addition to two new businesses - Torrent Energy and Cello.
