Jaldi on revamp mode

NEW DELHI, November 8

E-tailing portal Jaldi.com has merged with the consumer durables shopping site Windows2shop.com and appointed its promoter, the former Samsung India honcho RK Caprihan, as the new chief executive officer of the company. Caprihan joins Jaldi with over 30 years of marketing experience in the consumer durables industry and is expected to lend stability to Jaldi's operations.

Caprihan replaces Sanjay Trehan who quit earlier last month to join the reverse auction site Razorfinish.com. This is the third change of CEOs for the KLG System promoted site since Rajeev Puri, who had a brief stint with the site after an acrimonious parting with the Chinese consumer electronics major Konka. Trehan too had a brief stint as the CEO.

"The merger aims to leverage the shared vision of the two companies and empower the consumers with information, converting them into what companies call ‘smart shoppers'," say company officials.

Post merger, the products and services available at Windows2Shop.com will be available on the site Jaldi.com. Jaldi will also gain access to the established Windows2Shop.com network of 85 dealers across the country.

As the new CEO, Caprihan will be responsible for building the Jaldi.com brand and work towards developing the partner network. He will also oversee the company's expansion across all major cities in India.

"My decision to join Jaldi and to merge Windows2Shop.com with Jaldi.com was based on the practical realities of complementing Jaldi's established presence in the market and its technological strengths with our wealth of retailing experience. Jaldi has a clear vision, that mapped onto our own vision perfectly," Caprihan told newsmen.
