Rajesh Chakrabarti of Radio City moves to UTV, Hungama

He is joining UTV as the national sales head


Rajesh Chakrabarti, regional head, ad & #BANNER1 & # sales, west and east, Radio City has put in his papers. He is moving to UTV as national sales head. Confirming this development to agencyfaqs!, Chakrabarti said that at present, he is serving his notice period and will be joining UTV on June 15.

Chakrabarti will be responsible for acquisitions and airtime sales for Doordarshan and Sun TV. For the record, UTV sells airtimes on behalf of these two broadcasters.

He will also be responsible for content syndication of UTV and advertisement sales of Hungama TV - the kids' channel from the UTV house. Chakrabarti will report to Ronnie Screwvala, CEO, UTV.

An alumnus of St. Xavier's College Kolkata, Chakrabarti completed his post-graduate in research methodology and economics from Kolkata University. He started his professional career in 1994 with ORG Marg (then ORG). Later, in 1996, he moved to the ABP group and then Modi Entertainment Network before joining Radio City in 2003.
