Rajnath Kamath of NDTV Media quits

Industry sources say, Kamath is moving to Broadcast News

Rajnath Kamath, vice-president - ad sales, NDTV Media, has put in his papers. He is tipped to join Broadcast News, the new television venture formed by journalist Rajdeep Sardesai, NDTV's former CFO Sameer Manchanda, and TV 18's promoter Raghav Bahl.

A senior industry source has confirmed this development. He says, “Although Kamath was the vice-president - ad sales of the company, he was more into MIS and implementation of marketing strategies.”

At NDTV, Kamath was reporting to Neeraj Dutt, executive vice-president, NDTV Media. He joined NDTV Media in February 2003, when NDTV parted its ways with STAR News. Prior to joining NDTV, Kamath was working with STAR India.

At STAR India, he was heading the all-India sales for Vijay TV, and also ad sales for the southern market for other STAR channels. Kamath has had a long innings with STAR India and was earlier based out of Mumbai. He used to have STAR News, STAR Movies and CHannel [v] in his sales portfolio. © 2005 agencyfaqs!
