Sahara One appoints Shantonu Aditya as CEO

Sahara One has appointed Shantonu Aditya as its chief executive officer. With this move, Sahara One has completed its first phase of consolidation in its efforts to set the pace for its business goals within the Indian entertainment sector.

With Aditya’s appointment, Sahara One has completed restructuring its media and entertainment business into three strategic business units – Sahara One Entertainment Television, Sahara One Motion Pictures, and Sahara One Filmy (the Hindi Film based entertainment channel).

Plans are afoot to build the Sahara Film City soon for which detailed research has been completed and plans are being finalised. Sahara India Pariwar’s media & entertainment business was rebranded Sahara One last October with a new channel ID and promotions

Aditya will be assisted by senior executives including Purnendu Bose, COO, Sahara One Television Channel; Sandeep Bhargava, COO, Sahara One Motion Pictures; Ashutosh, Business Head, Sahara One Filmy Channel; Avijit Mitra, Head Programming, non-fiction & on-air programmes, Sahara One Entertainment Channel and others.

Sahara One has also adopted the global best practices in the entertainment and broadcast industry with the help of leading consulting firms such as KPMG and Ernst & Young.

Prior to joining Sahara One, Aditya was the president of SET Discovery. Having pioneered the pay revenue business model and handled the distribution and franchise of some of the most successful launches in the Indian broadcast industry in recent past such as NDTV, MTV and Nick, Shantonu was also the head of AXN India. © 2005 agencyfaqs!
