Maxus, Mumbai bags media duties of Essar Spacetel

Arun Batra, vice-president, sales & marketing, Essar Spacetel, indicates that spend levels will be in line with that of allied telecom players

Maxus, Mumbai has bagged the media duties of Essar Spacetel, an Essar group company that is set to venture into the telecom space by the end of the year.

The agency was informed about the company’s decision today.

Arun Batra, vice-president, sales & marketing, Essar Spacetel, says, “Maxus is the incumbent for the Essar group. We decided to go with the agency for the telecom business as well.”

Apparently, the Ruia-owned company was intially talking to other agencies; the identity of the agencies could not be ascertained.

Essar Spacetel will be launching GSM services in seven circles including Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir, Assam, North-East, Himachal Pradesh and Orissa.

The company recently appointed Capital Advertising as its creative agency. The business will be serviced out of Capital’s Mumbai office.

Batra of Spacetel declines to indicate the company’s ad budget, indicating that spend levels will be in line with that of allied telecom players. © 2005 agencyfaqs!
