Mumbai-based Beehive Communications in partnership
with Bloomingdale Advertising, Malaysia, has bagged the Rs 70 crore Tourism Malaysia account for South Asia. The countries include India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
The Beehive-Bloomingdale team will handle the creative and media duties and the duration of the contract is for the period, July 2005 to December 2007.
Incidentally, Beehive has been servicing Tourism Malaysia for more than a year now. Last year, the size of the account was in the region of Rs 14 crore.
According to Sanjit Shastri, CEO, Beehive Communications, "It's an honour to handle the account of one of the fastest growing tourist destinations in the world for this extremely critical growth market. Our ability to pre-empt regional travel trends and to deliver strategic solutions to leverage that, has helped us retain the account for yet another spell. Our focus will continue to be on maintaining a leadership strategy for Tourism Malaysia and we look forward to an exciting journey ahead."
Malkeet Singh, executive director, Bloomingdale, added, "Working with Beehive Communications on the account promises to be a dynamic experience. Malaysia, as a destination, has been received exceedingly well by India and other countries in the region, and our job of boosting quality tourist traffic out of the subcontinent to Malaysia will be quite a challenge."
Beehive is a new age communications agency in India with a focus on travel and tourism, its area of core domain expertise. It is currently working on accounts such as Thai Airways, Star Cruises and Rail Europe, apart from Tourism Malaysia.
Bloomingdale is one of the most experienced full service advertising agencies in Malaysia and has built a reputation of quality and reliability working with some of the most prestigious brands and government agencies in Malaysia for over two decades.
