Celebrated filmmaker Shyam Benegal will speak
on 'Communications and Culture' at the fourth Subhas Ghosal Foundation Lecture.
The event is in continuation of the lecture series that the Foundation organises every year. Sponsored by Rajasthan Patrika and ITC, and supported by Ad Club Mumbai and agencyfaqs.com, the lecture will take place at the Ballroom, ITC Grand Central (Parel) on September 6 at 7 pm.
This annual lecture is a prestigious event attended by over 200 senior advertising and marketing executives from Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Kolkata. Previous speakers at the annual lecture include Allen Thomas, Prannoy Roy and Gurcharan Das.
Before Benegal spearheaded the New Cinema movement in India with his debut film 'Ankur' and grew in stature to become one of India's leading filmmakers, he used to be a full-time advertising man - first, as a copywriter and then, as creative & accounts group head. Later, he branched out into directing commercials.
It is not just Benegal's early years in advertising and communications that will illuminate the lecture. It is also his keen insight and articulateness that will make the evening memorable, promises a release from the Foundation.
Tickets, priced at Rs 750 and inclusive of cocktails & dinner, will be soon available from the Adclub Mumbai and from the Subhas Ghosal Foundation. For more information, Sanjeev Azad can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org.
