R Ramesh Chandran and Naman Sharma join Carat

While Chandran (who comes from Apocalypso Films) will be the national buying head, Sharma moves in as director, research and analytics

Carat has made two additions to its team. R Ramesh Chandran, executive producer, Apocalypso Films, has joined Carat, Delhi, as vice-president, investments; he will head the national buying function. Chandran, who has always been in media buying, has also tried his hand in the creative department as executive producer, Apocalypso Films, where he was responsible for new businesses.

In addition, Naman Sharma, consultant, Prudential Process Management Services, has taken on the role of director, research and analytics, Carat, Mumbai.

Confirming this development, Charles Jenarius, group CEO, Carat, remarks, “Chandran comes to us with experience spanning 22 years. He has specialised in the science of media buying and implementation, working at a regional as well as national level for an impressive array of clients. I am confident that he will contribute immensely to our buying function and generate innovative media tools.”

“Sharma will be responsible for implementing our proprietary process and tools. He will also be involved in a significant way in the area of data modelling and analytics for our clients,” Jenarius continues.

Chandran brings with him the experience of having worked at Lowe, Everest Brand Solutions, Karishma, FCB Ulka, Euro RSCG and MPG. He has worked for a number of clients, including Philips, National Panasonic, Kelvinator, Hindustan Lever Ltd, Marico, Reckitt Benckiser, LML, Kinetic Honda, Hero Motors, Lacoste, Bombay Dyeing, Microsoft Corporation, jaldi.com and jobsahead.com.

Sharma, a mechanical engineering graduate with a PGDBM in marketing and systems, has experience in research and marketing and has done stints at AC Nielsen-ORG MARG, MRUC and, more recently, Prudential Process Management Services.
