Target FMCG: Euro South beefs up its creative team

Ishan Raina, CEO, feels that bringing in this new creative talent will help Euro RSCG attract more FMCG clients in the south

Euro RSCG is & #BANNER1 & # buzzing with activity down south. The agency has brought in fresh talent to boost its creative team.

Harshad Sharma has joined Euro RSCG as creative director, South operations. Sharma comes from Indusunion Advertising, Delhi, where he was partner and executive creative director.

Venkiteswara Iyer has moved from O&M, Chennai, where he was a consultant in the art function, to join Euro RSCG as creative head, Chennai.

At the Bangalore branch, Rajeev Gonsalves has been hired as creative director. Gonsalves was earlier copy head, Digital Juice. S Samson has been appointed art director at the branch. He was senior art director, iContract, Bangalore

Ishan Raina, chairman and CEO, Euro RSCG, says this restructuring of the creative team down south is part of a broader strategy to attract more FMCG clients there.

"At Euro RSCG, we're going back to the basics," comments Raina. "Overall, 2005 has been a year of investing in resources and, as a part of that, we are broadening our creative talent with a new crew on board. As far as our south operations are concerned, we have added quite a few technology based accounts to our kitty, but we need to bring in more FMCG brands. This new team is a step towards achieving that."

The new team has wide experience in advertising. Harshad Sharma has worked with Saatchi & Saatchi, Rediffusion DY&R and Interact Vision on brands such as Colgate, Tata Sons Corporate, Tata Tea, BPL, Baidyanath, Candico and the Indian Express Group.

Iyer, on the other hand, has always kept to the art side of creativity, having worked for Bates, Rediffusion DY&R, Leo Burnett, Grey Worldwide and O&M, Chennai.

Gonsalves started off with Saatchi & Saatchi, after which he worked for WCJ, Draft Worldwide and software company iCode. He has dealt with brands such as Microsoft, Compaq and IBM. He has even tried his hand at animation while at Digital Juice, where he headed the copy department. Samson has worked on brands such as Hero Honda, Wipro and Visa.
