Mudra South seems
to be on a roll. Two of its creatives - Blossoms and Nutrine Kokanaka - have bagged a silver and a merit certificate, respectively, at the Times Asia-Pacific Advertising Awards.
Speaking to agencyfaqs!, Jagdish Acharya, executive creative director, Mudra, Bangalore, says "We have been sending entries to the Times Asia-Pacific Advertising Awards for the last couple of years, but this is the first time we have bagged awards."
He adds, "This year, we sent in four entries - Henko in the Home Products category, Monster in the Online category, Blossoms in the Retail Services/ Stores category and Nutrine Kokanaka in the Foods category. Only Henko was not short-listed. Finally, Blossoms managed to pick up the silver and Nutrine Kokanaka picked up the merit certificate."
Blossoms is a second-hand bookstore in Bangalore. The print campaign included four adverts, which talked about the various categories of books that are available in the store. Nutrine Kokanaka is also a print campaign with the picture of a coconut wrapped like a toffee.
In conclusion, Acharya says, "The most delightful fact is that both these campaigns are our regular consumer product adverts. Therefore, the kind of visibility that these two campaigns have received is just amazing. The awards have motivated the entire team to a great extent to deliver better work in the years to come."
For the record, the first Times Asia-Pacific Advertising Awards was started in 1990 by the China Times Group. The objective was to broaden Taiwan's ad horizons and fulfil a corporate vision while encouraging professional exchanges within the Asia-Pacific region. With chairmen from six major international advertising agencies in the selection committee, world renowned advertising gurus graced the occasion and captivated the audience with inspiring speeches. The Group announced this year's winner on January 1 on its official website. The ceremony is slated to be held at the end of January.
