Lintas IMAG’s Rajiv Menon joins 141 Worldwide as creative director

Rajiv Menon, creative director, Lintas IMAG, has ended his eight-year-old association with the Lintas group to join 141 Worldwide as creative director. Menon will operate out of Mumbai and look after all the creative operations of 141 Worldwide in India.

Charulata Ravikumar, executive vice-president, Bates Enterprise, says, “Menon is a senior person in the industry, just the kind of national resource we were looking for. He comes with an unusual mix of above-the-line as well as below-the-line experiences. This year, our focus will be to build on our Mumbai operations, as it is a big, important market waiting to be tapped.”

Commenting on his move, Menon says, “After having spent eight years at Lintas, I was reaching a kind of stagnation and wanted a change. 141 Worldwide offers me a broader spectrum as it is a worldwide network agency. I believe it is truly a 360-degree agency whose DNA is all about behavioural transformation studies and brand enhancement. And that is the way forward, with more and more marketers taking an interest in personalised, one-to-one marketing.”

Menon has 15 years of experience. He started out in 1990 with Edge Communications, then a division of Everest Advertising, in the client servicing function. When Triton was formed in 1991, Menon joined it and spent two years there. He then joined O&M, where he spent another year.

After client servicing, Menon went on a sabbatical for a while. Later, he went creative, working for Direm on accounts such as British Airways, Cox & Kings and Colgate-Palmolive.

He also did a stint with Corvo Draft Worldwide, after which he started his journey at Lintas with Lintas Personal. When Lintas IMAG was formed in 2004, Menon came on board and handled accounts such as the Coffee Board of India.

For the record, Lintas IMAG is the umbrella name for offerings such as Lintas Personal, Linterland, Advent, LINOpinion and Lintas Healthcare.
