Ashish Chakravorty joins ETC as business head

Ashish Chakravorty, senior vice-president and head of Zee’s Syndication Sales & Film Acquisition Division, has moved to ETC as business head.

Jagjit Singh Kohli, director, ETC Networks Ltd, says, “Chakravorty has been with the Zee Group for the past six years and has served in both the music and film divisions. Thus, he brings with him his understanding of Bollywood and the music industry, which are the core elements of ETC.”

Chakravorty, an Economic Honours graduate from Mumbai University, started his career with Percept in 1989. After working there for more than two years, he moved to Lintas, where he spent six years. He then took a break and tried his hand at an entrepreneurial venture. He joined the Zee Group in 1999, initially with Zee Records (then Zee Music). His last stint was also with Zee as the head of the Syndication Sales & Film Acquisition Division.

Speaking to agencyfaqs!, Chakravorty says, “Having experience in both music and films, I believe it’s a logical step for me to move to ETC, where my experience will be exploited properly. My primary mandate will be to utilise the strengths of ETC and integrate them.”
