has appointed B Sridhar director, media services. Sridhar, who is currently business director with Initiative, will take up his new assignment within a week.
Sridhar's role will be to act as a link between Hyundai Motors, Innocean and ZenithOptimedia, which handles the media duties for Hyundai.
Explaining the reason behind hiring a senior media resource, Vivek Srivastava, executive director, Innocean, says, "Innocean is the master agency for Hyundai and we want to do it in a holistic manner. Innocean's objective is to add value to the Hyundai brand at every strategic step. Sridhar, with his vast range of experience, will give us the edge we seek."
Srivastava says the objective behind this effort is to strategically channel the media activities and opportunities between the trio and act as a facilitator in the relationship and interactions among Innocean, ZenithOptimedia and Hyundai.
Commenting on his new role, Sridhar says, "The role that I will play at Innocean is vastly different from what I am currently pursuing. I see this as a great opportunity for learning about the dynamic automobile industry and working with a team of top professionals all around at Hyundai, Innocean and ZenithOptimedia."
Innocean Worldwide, which started operations in India in January 2006, has its hands full with the creative work for all the Hyundai models. The Sonata Embera campaign that the agency has worked on has hit the magazines and outdoor media. Another TVC for the new price announcement for the Hyundai Santro, featuring superstar Shah Rukh Khan, is already on air.
Commenting on the further recruitment plans of the agency, YK Choi, managing director, Innocean India, says, "We are in the process of recruiting, which will complete the hierarchical architecture of the agency."
He adds, "Over a period of time, we intend becoming armed with the necessary resources to service our client's needs effectively."
