Turner Entertainment undergoes role enhancements

Turner Entertainment Networks Asia has gone in for a structural revamp by promoting three of its key senior level marketing members

Turner Entertainment Networks Asia, Inc. (TENA) has promoted three of its key marketing people. Soumitra Saha, earlier vice-president, regional advertising and licensing sales, has been promoted to senior vice-president, regional advertising, sales and marketing. Vivek Krishnani, earlier director, marketing, Cartoon Network and Pogo India, is now executive director, marketing, Asia-Pacific. Bikram Duggal has been promoted to associate director, marketing, India and Pakistan, for Cartoon Network and Pogo. Earlier, he was senior marketing manager for Pogo.

As senior vice-president, regional advertising sales and marketing, Soumitra Saha, based in Hong Kong, will now drive the marketing activities for Turner’s entertainment channels across the region and also work with Turner’s network divisions to develop initiatives based on the network’s strategic business objectives. Meanwhile, he will continue to oversee entertainment advertising sales and steward the Sesame India project (the soon to be launched Galli Galli Sim Sim show).

Vivek Krishnani will relocate to Hong Kong to oversee Turner’s marketing initiatives across the region and work with the group’s regional and in-country marketing teams to develop and execute marketing programmes that enhance brand values and achieve individual business goals. He will also supervise the development of the online offerings of Turner’s entertainment brands.

Bikram Duggal will manage Turner’s marketing activities for India and Pakistan.  His responsibilities will include providing strategic direction to both Cartoon Network and Pogo, while working closely with other network units such as advertising sales, Cartoon Network Enterprises, and programming and creative services to drive awareness and demand for Turner’s brands and properties.

Welcoming the strategic promotions, Ian Diamond, senior vice-president and general manager, Turner, says, “We consider it extremely important to encourage and motivate the abundant talent and expertise within our team by providing timely challenges and growth opportunities. I am sure that the structural enhancements to the Turner executive team will help us to our best advantage.”
