McCann and Leo Burnett win at the FAB Awards

McCann-Erickson and Leo Burnett were recognised and awarded at the 8th International Food and Beverage Creative Excellence Awards

The 8th International Food and Beverage Creative Excellence Awards, held in London this year, had eight nominations from India. But only McCann-Erickson and Leo Burnett managed to bag any metals – for Big Babol and McDonald’s, respectively – at the event.

McCann bagged the FAB FABulous Award for the Best Press and Poster Work for Perfetti van Melle’s Big Babol ads, ‘Kiss’, ‘Crime’ and ‘Adult’, in the Confectionary and Snacks category.

Leo Burnett got a FAB for Best Poster for McDonald’s Home Delivery, titled ‘Hole in Shoe’, in the Retailers category. This was Leo Burnett’s only nomination at the FAB Awards this year.

Meanwhile, McCann had four nominations at this year’s awards. Apart from three ads for Big Babol, the nominations included two commercials for Coca-Cola and one poster ad for Sweetex.

Other agencies from India which bagged nominations this year were JWT, Design Temple and 1pointsize.

The FAB Awards are the only international food and beverage awards, and they recognise creative excellence in the media, including integrated campaign, new media, packaging design, press, poster, radio, television/cinema, direct marketing, below-the-line and so on.

This year’s FAB Awards attracted more than 3,000 pieces of work from over 60 countries across these categories.
