Sriram Sharma takes over from Anil George at Maxus, Bangalore

Sharma used to be business director on the Titan business and he will take over his new post from June 1

Anil George, head of Maxus, Bangalore, has quit. He says he intends to pursue his career interests beyond media. He is currently serving his notice period and will remain at Maxus till the middle of June 2006.

In an official communiqué, CVL Srinivas, CEO, Maxus, said that George had played a big role in strengthening Maxus, Bangalore.

Sriram Sharma, business director on the Titan business, will replace George as general manager, Maxus, Bangalore. His appointment will come into effect from June 1.

Sharma has been with Maxus for more than two years. Prior to that, he worked with agencies such as Initiative and McCann-Erickson. Sharma has also done stints as media manager with Hughes Software between 2000 and 2001.

The Bangalore branch of Maxus handles several blue-chip businesses such as Titan Industries, Britannia Industries, Himalaya, AMD and MTR.

In terms of billings, Maxus has almost doubled its revenues in the last two years.

According to Srinivas, his immediate objective will be to work on the plans chalked out by the senior management.

He says, “The focus is now on career development, training and staff retention measures. The company believes that talent management is the most critical factor for its growth.”

Maxus has been able to attract good talent and all its accounts are handled by a mix of existing and new team members.

Some of the new members in the Maxus team include Madhvi Pahwa, who moved here from Coca-Cola, as director, Insights, and Ajay Gupte, who has moved from TVS Motors as business head on Nokia. D Naidu and Padmini Singh have also joined the Nokia team, while Anupama Vendantam has joined as business director in Maxus, Mumbai.
