Ajit Narayan moves from RMG Connect to Wunderman

Essentially, Narayan will look into direct marketing and CRM for Microsoft

Ajit Narayan, V-P and branch head, RMG Connect, Chennai, has moved to Wunderman India as V-P and country head on the Microsoft account. He will be based in Delhi.

Narayan decided to move because he felt he was stagnating in Chennai. He says, “I am quite conversant with technology and it interests me as a category.”

Narayan’s mandate is to look after direct marketing and CRM for the brand and integrate them with the global campaign.

Narayan will report to Rajat Sethi, CEO, Wunderman India. He has experience of 14 years, predominantly in direct marketing. He began his career in 1992, where his first assignment was in direct sales. His started his advertising journey with Enterprise Nexus Direct (then Direct Response), Kolkata, where he was account supervisor for four years.

He went on to join Thomson Connect as account director for three years. Narayan has also done short stints with Ogilvy One, Bangalore, as head and branch manager, and HT, where he was DGM, media marketing.

Two years ago, he moved to RMG Connect, joining there as assistant vice-president. Last year, he was promoted as vice-president.

During his career span, Narayan has worked on brands such as Compaq, Bank of America, Escotel, Spice Telecom, ITC, Coats, Monster.com, Hutch and Ford.

He recollects two projects as close to his heart – Spice Telecom, for which he worked on the loyalty programme, and Ford, where he conceptualised and managed the acquisition programme on the Ford Fiesta campaign.
