who till recently was associate vice-president and creative director with JWT, Mumbai, has now moved to Chennai as vice-president and executive creative director. His mandate here will be to boost the creative operations and do a complete turnaround for all the brands with the branch.
Commenting on the change, Kumar says, "Well, it's a move that has been decided by the company. But personally, I feel it will be quite a challenge to head the branch office and rev up the creative altitudes as a whole."
On his joining Anita Gupta, senior vice-president and general manager, JWT, Chennai, says, "Senthil (Kumar) will strengthen JWT's objective to enhance the quality and construction of the creative ideas. He has already proven his mettle in the industry. As a team player, he is highly talented, multidimensional and full of enthusiasm to work with."
Kumar has spent more than 10 years in the Indian advertising industry and had stints with Grey Worldwide (then Trikaya Grey Advertising) in Bangalore and Colombo and Akshar Advertising in Bangalore, prior to JWT.
He is the only Indian creative director to feature on the New York Festivals Television and Cinema Jury this year. One of his recent renowned projects include the Levi's 'Slim vs Slim' campaign which bagged awards at Cannes, the Clios 2006, the Asia Pacific Adfest as well as at the Abbys and the Goafest.
Some of the brands he has worked on are Levi's, The Diamond Trading Corporation, Smirnoff, Pepsi, Lipton, Spice Telecom, Kingfisher Beer, Hindustan Petroleum, 'Times of India', Hungama Kids TV, Unicef, Sri Lanka Tourism and a host of Unilever brands.
