Madison Media launches two entities, Alpha and Sigma

Madison Media now has four sub-brands. Madison Media Alpha and Madison Media Sigma will be headed by Neelkamal Sharma and Vanita Keshwani, respectively. Both COOs are from within the Madison group

Madison Media has undergone some major changes in its structure with the twin objective of providing focused attention to large businesses and rewarding its senior talent pool by giving them more authority and responsibility. The group has launched two more units, Madison Media Alpha and Madison Media Sigma.

With this, the Madison Media Group will now comprise four units – Madison Media Alpha, Madison Media Sigma, Madison Media Infinity and Madison Media Plus. The last two were launched in April 2005. Over the next few months, all the accounts of Madison Media will be allocated to one of the four units, each headed by a chief operating officer who hails from within the group.

The four COOs will be Neelkamal Sharma (Madison Media Alpha), Karthik Lakshminarayan (Madison Media Infinity), Vanita Keshwani (Madison Media Sigma) and Basabdatta Chowdhuri (Madison Media Plus). All four will report to Punitha Arumugam, group CEO, Madison Media.

Lakshminarayan replaces Ajit Varghese at Madison Media Infinity. Varghese quit the organisation recently to join Maxus India as its MD.

Punitha Arumugam comments, “With the launch of two additional units, we now have a flatter structure, which will provide greater focus to our clients’ businesses.”

Sam Balsara, chairman and managing director, Madison World, remarks, “This reorganisation, according to me, is an example of Madison’s ability to develop managerial talent within the group and, whenever an opportunity arises, we are able to fill the slots with internal resources rather than look outside.”
