16 finalists from India in the race for metals at YoungGuns

The finalists include seven from O&M India, three from Grey Worldwide, two each from Mudra and Saatchi & Saatchi, and one each from Everest Brand Solutions and Ambience Publicis

The list of finalists for YoungGuns are out and 16 entries from India have made it there. These include seven from O&M India, three from Grey Worldwide, two each from Mudra and Saatchi & Saatchi and one each from Everest Brand Solutions and Ambience Publicis.

O&M’s seven entries include its work for Maharashtra Tourism and Development Corporation, titled ‘MTDC Game Anjaneri, Daulatabad, Verut’ in the Art Direction (Print Only): Campaign category. O&M’s entry for Mattel Toys India, titled ‘Hotwheels Lift’ has made it to the Print Advertising: Consumer Magazines category. In the Print Advertising: Newspaper Campaign, ‘Shadow Play’, the agency’s work for Fevicol, was short-listed. In the Print Advertising: Public & Community Service category, O&M’s entry for IAPA Adoption, titled ‘Bed, Book, Toys’, has been short-listed.

O&M has two finalists in the Outdoor/Poster category: ‘Shadow Play’ for Fevicol Adhesive and ‘Toys’ for Gillette India. In the Direct Mail category, O&M’s work for IAPA, ‘Bed’, has been short-listed.

Grey Worldwide’s three finalists are all for Childcare India. Its three entries, ‘Beggar Boy 1’, ‘Beggar Boy 2’ and ‘Beggar Boy 3’, have been short-listed in the Outdoor/Posters: Public & Community Service category.

Mudra has two finalists at the YoungGuns. In the Radio: Radio up to and including 30 Seconds category is Mudra’s work, ‘Cell Phone’, for Hindustan Motors as has its other entry, ‘Budget Travel’, in the Outdoor/Posters: Transit including Buses, Taxis, Trains category for Air-India Express. The latter was conceptualised by Shikhar Mohan, who is now a creative supervisor with Everest Brand Solutions.

Saatchi & Saatchi, too, has scored two finalists in the Outdoor/Posters category, both for ‘Corners – Painter’, its work for P&G.

Everest Brand Solutions’ short-listed entry is titled ‘Graveyard’, in the Outdoor/Posters: Public & Community Service category, for Cancer Patients Aid Association. Ambience Publicis’ entry is ‘X-Ray’ in the Outdoor/Posters category for Metropolis Laboratories.

The results are expected to be announced by November 15, 2006.
