Showdiff, Havas Group tie up for sports marketing

Showdiff is the events, sports and celebrity management joint venture of Rediffusion DY&R & cricket personality Ravi Shastri

Havas Sports, the sports marketing arm of the global Havas Group, and Showdiff Worldwide, the events, sports and celebrity management joint venture of Rediffusion DY&R and cricket celebrity Ravi Shastri, have entered into a strategic partnership to popularise the concept of sports marketing in the Indian subcontinent.

As is known, Havas Sports recently entered India, bringing with itself international expertise and experience in the field of sports marketing, which will benefit Showdiff. Showdiff is around three years old in India, but has built itself a solid client base and is strong in the market with local contacts and brands, which is how Havas Sports will profit from the tie-up.

Lucien Boyer, CEO, Havas Sports International, remarks, “In India, we intend to capitalise on the rapidly growing sports marketing domain. With our brand-focused approach and our research and measurement tools, we offer our clients the added bonus of knowing whether their activities are successful or should be discontinued, and if successful, how to make them more so. Therefore, this strategic partnership with Showdiff Worldwide will be beneficial to everyone concerned.”

Boyer adds that Showdiff Worldwide brings with itself a history of providing entertainment and conducting corporate events. “This, combined with our sports marketing expertise, is bound to benefit sports marketing in India,” he explains.

Ex-India cricket captain and media personality Ravi Shastri, who is vice-chairman, Showdiff Worldwide, adds, “India has seriously lacked a professional sports marketing firm, which is why we were looking for a partner with the appropriate international expertise.
