MPG has appointed Mohit Joshi executive business director on the Rs 200 crore Reckitt Benckiser business. He moves from Zenith Optimedia where he was V-P, planning.

Besides overseeing the Reckitt Benckiser business, Joshi will also be responsible for bringing in new business for the agency. He will report to Nalini Ravishankar, MD, MPG, Delhi.

Joshi says, “Now, I have a bigger role to play. Back at Zenith Optimedia, I was merely looking at planning, whereas out here, I will also be responsible for business development.”

According to Ravishankar, Joshi will be a great resource for MPG. His planning experience and research acumen will help the agency. “He has extensive experience of working in the FMCG sector, which will be beneficial in handling the Reckitt Benckiser account,” she says.

A graduate from IIT, Delhi, and an MBA from the SP Jain Institute of Management, Mumbai, Joshi began his career in advertising in 1998 at MindShare (then the media arm of HTA). He spent five years there in the media planning function before moving to Universal McCann, where he spent another three years as business director on the Nestle business.

In 2006, he moved to Zenith Optimedia as V-P, planning, when the Nestle account moved from Universal McCann to Zenith Optimedia.

Joshi has spent four years on the Nestle account. Apart from that, he has worked on accounts such as Hero Honda, GlaxoSmithkline (then Smithkline Beecham) and Monster.com.
