Mayur & #BANNER1 & # Suitings, the suitings brand from LNJ Bhilwara Group, has hailed Salman Khan as its new brand ambassador. With this, Mayur Suitings aims to strengthen its mass appeal and create better consumer connect.

The king of the Khans, Shahrukh Khan, was the first brand ambassador for Mayur Suitings in 1995, and he continued to be so until 1998-99. He was followed by Chandrachud Singh, Sharad Kapoor and Virender Sehwag.

According to KD Joshi, vice-president, marketing, Mayur Suitings, change of brand ambassadors is an evolutionary process for a brand. The objective for Mayur Suitings is to be a mass fashion brand and provide an international look at an affordable price. The target audience for the brand currently includes men from SEC B, C and D segments. Salman Khan is a match for the brand because he shares the quality of having mass connect and also represents the toughness and quality of the fabric with his image.

Says Riju Jhunjhunwala, joint managing director, Rajasthan Spinning and Weaving Mills (RSWM), "Salman (Khan) has certain personality attributes that go very well with the brand and provide an aspirational connect with consumers across all segments in the country."

Mayur Suitings will be rolling out a 360-degree campaign, which will include print, outdoor, radio and television, apart from other promotional activities. An initial 40-seconder will promote the 'feel good and look good' factor by featuring Salman Khan with its signature tag-line 'Stars ki pasand'. The ad shows Salman donning a Mayur suit and charming the opposite sex with his good looks and style.
