Singh was the managing director for developing markets at The Tetley Group, London. There, he played a key role in extending the brand through organic growth, acquisitions and joint ventures. Prior to that, he worked for six years with Sony Music Entertainment as managing director, setting up the company in India.

Singh is overwhelmed at the opportunity of working with STAR and, more importantly, with Paul Aiello. "I am looking forward to applying my experience to STAR's businesses" he states.

An MBA from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Singh has experience with companies such as Walt Disney, where he was the CEO of Walt Disney Consumer Products, India, Unilever India, where he was marketing controller for Brooke Bond, and also with the Tata Administrative Services.

Aiello feels fortunate that Singh accepted STAR India's proposal. He said, "Vijay's business acumen and insights into India and other developing markets make him a veteran executive. His experience will prove immensely valuable for STAR India for its next phase of growth and expansion."
