According to Aiello, Shankar’s in-depth knowledge and experience in this industry makes him the perfect fit for this post. “He is a highly regarded and accomplished person with good business acumen and has an established relationship with STAR,” Aiello says.

Meanwhile, Shankar is thrilled about his new role at an organisation that has experienced too many storms since the last few months. “The C&S industry is booming at the moment and I am determined to work towards fortifying STAR India’s position in the time to come” he states.

Shankar had joined MCCS in February 2004. Prior to that, Shankar was the editor and news director at Aaj Tak. He was instrumental in launching India Today Group’s television ventures Aaj Tak and Headlines Today. He also spearheaded the launch of Sahara’s news division, Sahara Samay.
