Makani Creatives bags Red Tape account

The first print campaign for Red Tape will break in the first week of May 2007. The approximate size of the advertising spends is in the region of Rs 6 crore

Makani Creatives has bagged the advertising duties for the footwear brand, Red Tape. The incumbent agency was Percept H. There was no formal pitch for the business, but the account is believed to have moved to Makani through an internal development with Red Tape India.

The approximate size of the advertising spends is in the region of Rs 6 crore. Red Tape will launch a new range of shoes for women next month and has hired Kangana Ranaut to advertise the line. The shoes will be advertised under the brand name, Red Tape Gal. While Ranaut will be responsible for endorsing the range of shoes for women, Salman Khan will continue to endorse the range of shoes for men.

The shoes for women and men will be advertised separately in the media. The first print campaign will break in the first week of May 2007. Apart from the print medium, the media mix will include media such as television commercials, outdoor advertising, radio and below the line activities.

Sameer Makani, director, Makani Creatives, remarks, “Makani Creatives has been an expert in advertising fashion, retail and lifestyle brands. In the recent past, we have advertised brands such as Provogue, Kiah diamond jewellery and The Loot chain of stores. Red Tape is a fashion footwear brand and I think we were awarded the business, seeing our experience and understanding of the fashion category.”
