JWT Mumbai is hottest Indian agency, says Campaign Brief Asia

The eagerly awaited rankings by Campaign Brief Asia have been revealed. JWT, Mumbai, which was 10th in last year’s list of India’s Hottest Agencies, has displaced last year’s number one, Ogilvy & Mather, Mumbai. In fact, JWT Mumbai stands at number 16 in the Hottest Agencies in Asia list, rising from 68 last year.

Ogilvy & Mather, Mumbai, is now the second hottest agency in India. It ranks 22 among Asia’s 25 Hottest Agencies, where it has slipped by two ranks from last year. Leo Burnett, Mumbai, has descended from number two in India last year to number three this year. It features at 24 in the Asia rankings, slipping one rank.

McCann Erickson, Mumbai, has stuck to its fourth position in the India rankings, while it ranks last in Asia’s top 25, up six rungs from last year. One rank higher than last time is Ogilvy & Mather, New Delhi, which is number five in India.

Bagging the sixth rank is Rediffusion DY&R, a new entrant. Last year’s number three, Ambience Publicis, Mumbai, is this year’s number seven. Eighth is Mudra DDB Communications, which has moved up six ranks from last year. The ninth and 10th places have been taken by Saatchi and Saatchi, Mumbai (last year’s fifth) and JWT, Chennai (last year’s ninth).

Hital Pandya from JWT, Mumbai, features first among India’s Hottest Creatives, followed by Karan Amin from the same agency. The third rank is shared by two people, also from JWT, Mumbai, Prahlad Nanjappa and Vivek Kakkad.

Last year’s 11th rank holder, Santosh Padhi of Leo Burnett, Mumbai, has jumped to the fifth position this time, followed by Kunal Sawant from Ogilvy & Mather, Mumbai. Next, at rank seven, are the toppers of 2005, Emmanuel Upputuru and Prasad Raghavan, both from Ogilvy & Mather, Delhi.

At ninth position is Manish Bhatt of McCann Erickson, Mumbai, slipping six ranks since last year. Prasoon Joshi of McCann Erickson, Mumbai, is at 10th place.
