Fortune Communications bags creative duties for Alcon Victor

Fortune Communications will handle the creative duties for the Goa based Alcon Victor. The group has not been in advertising circles for almost a decade now. It is believed to be planning an expansion

Fortune Communications, Mumbai, JWT’s second agency, has bagged the creative duties for the Alcon Victor Group.  The agency will handle the advertising, activation and merchandising for its new client.

Alcon Victor had withdrawn itself from advertising for a while. The last time it had hired an ad agency was during the 1990s, when Ambience was handling its creative duties. The current win came after group executives went through Fortune’s credentials. There was no formal pitch called for the business.

The account is a mid-sized win and the group will make use of various mass media for different portfolios. The exact size of the business could not be ascertained.

The Alcon Victor Group, with a turnover of Rs 60 crore, owns hotels and resorts, and has real estate and construction as well as healthcare interests. However, Fortune will not handle the duties for the real estate and construction businesses just yet.

Says Suranjan Das, managing partner, Fortune, “This is an exciting win. The Alcon Victor Group has ambitious expansion plans across their businesses and we hope to make significant contributions in their success.”

Fortune Communications was set up in the mid 1990s as the specialist financial services advertising firm within the J Walter Thompson business. Among the group’s properties are the Dona Sylvia and Victor Exotica Beach Resorts, the Devaaya Ayurvedic Spa and the Apollo Victor Hospital.
