Lowe India brings aboard global planner, Brent Gosling

Gosling has been appointed chief strategy officer on the agency’s Unilever brands. He will also guide the Lowe planning teams in India

Lowe, India, has appointed global planner, Brent Gosling, as chief strategic officer on its Unilever brands. Gosling will be based in Mumbai and will provide strategic planning leadership on the global Unilever brands for which Lowe, India, is the global/ regional hub – Lifebuoy, Fair & Lovely, Clinic Plus and Surf Excel.

“We found Brent through a long worldwide search for a top quality planner,” says Pranesh Misra, president and COO, Lowe India. “His arrival will further strengthen the strategic and planning edge of the agency.” In addition to his role in the Unilever brands, Gosling will lead the planning community at Lowe, India.

Prior to this assignment, Gosling was head, Gosling Research, a boutique research agency specialising in brand positioning, strategy and communications. Some of its key clients include ASDA, BSkyB, Burger King, Campbells (Homepride), Carling/Coors, COI, Food Standards Agency, Georgia Pacific (Nouvelle) and Ferrosan (Imedeen).

Gosling was also a partner at HHCL and Partners. He was responsible for AA & AA Insurance and its successful de-mutualisation. At HHCL, he pitched successfully for Axa, Fifa, Yahoo and did planning for Guinness and Kilkenny. Gosling also worked as a copywriter at Cowan Kemsley Taylor and a planner at Ogilvy and Mather.

He has won the first APG Creative Planning Awards, Gold & Grand Prix, Nik Naks, in1993 and the IPA Advertising Effectiveness Awards, (second prize), Radion, 1990.
