has joined Mid-Day as marketing head. He comes from Nickelodeon, where he was the senior manager, marketing. He will report to Abhijit Pradhan, director, sales and marketing, Mid-Day. His mandate will be to consolidate the marketing functions of the company nationally in Mumbai, New Delhi and Bangalore.
Abhijit Pradhan says, "Neville (Bastawalla) has a wide range of experience across advertising agencies and media houses. He will work in line with Mid-Day's new brand proposition 'Making work fun' and will help the organisation grow further."
Bastawalla did his Masters in management studies from University of Mumbai and began his career in account management with Advertising Avenues in 1999. He has eight years' experience in advertising and marketing. After spending close to a year with Advertising Avenues, he moved to Mudra and worked there for three years. Then he worked with Contract Advertising for two years.
Some of the brands he has worked on during his days in advertising include Cadbury's, Godrej, Kinetic and Reliance Infocomm. Among his recent assignments, he fondly recalls conceptualising marketing strategy at Nickelodeon for the 'Nick Fundoo Superstar Contest', a four-week contest to select four winners from over four lakh competing children. The winners subsequently star in a Nick music video along with TV celebrity Mona 'Jassi' Singh.
