Swati Shetty to head distribution for Disney in India

The Walt Disney Company’s international TV distribution arm, Disney-ABC International Television (Asia Pacific), has a new member in its Asia Pacific team, with Swati Shetty joining it as director, India. She will be responsible for Disney-ABC International Television’s TV distribution business in India. She replaces Amit Malhotra, who was promoted in June 2007 to regional sales director, Pan-Asia, India and Singapore.

Shetty used to be associate director, advertising and sales, for the Disney Channel in India. Before that, she has worked with Indian broadcasters such as STAR India and SaharaOne.

Shetty’s team in India comprises Shreya Kapdi, assistant manager, client development, and Stanley Fernandes, assistant manager, technical services and client development.

Shetty will operate from Mumbai and report directly to Malhotra in Hong Kong and also to Andy Bird, president, Walt Disney International. She will join Disney-ABC International Television in the first week of August.
