Starcom IP India effects change in leadership structure

Starcom MediaVest Group India today announced a leadership change at its digital marketing practice, Starcom IP

Starcom Mediavest Group has brought about a leadership change in its digital agency, Starcom IP. Hari Shankar will take on the leadership of Starcom IP India as director with immediate effect. He has recently returned to India from Singapore. He will be based in Bangalore and will report to Ravi Kiran, chief executive officer, Starcom Mediavest Group.

Vamsi Vanka, current head of the unit, will play a regional role. He will report directly to Pushkar Sane, general manager, Asia, Starcom IP. He will continue to be based in Mumbai and will focus on new business in the India market.

Pranay Anthwal, who has been holding dual responsibility for Starcom Entertainment and Starcom IP as general manager, India, will focus solely on Starcom Entertainment, the entertainment and embedded marketing practice of the group. He will continue to report to Ravi Kiran, chief executive officer, South Asia, Starcom MediaVest Group.

Says Kiran, “Over the last three years, both Starcom IP and Starcom Entertainment have grown rapidly and are today amongst the top specialists in their respective domains. We are preparing to put both into a higher gear and have decided to give them independent leadership.”

Shankar is a computer science engineer and a marketing MBA and has 12 years of experience across sales, media and digital, in CIOL, Euro RSCG, Mediaturf, Mindshare and MediaCom.
